In December, MMA fighter Conor McGregor caused a stir by saying he would “whoop Jesus’s a##.”
“Me versus Jesus in the Octagon? I tell you what, there’s not a man alive that can beat me,” McGregor said. “But Jesus ain’t alive so I don’t bleeping know, maybe he can come back from the dead, I don’t know.”
Fast forward to yesterday’s news conference for UFC 197 in Las Vegas, where McGregor is vying for Rafael dos Anjos’ belt on March 5.
A reporter asked dos Anjos, of Christian faith, what he thought of McGregor’s comments of ‘whooping Jesus.’
“He has no respect for anybody,” dos Anjos said. “I’m just a sinner in Jesus’s hand and on March 5th he will see what a sinner can do.”
McGregor responded, “Me and Jesus are cool. I’m cool with all the gods. Gods recognize gods.”
Two answers may be revealed to McGregor on March 5;
1. dos Anjos is up for the challenge.
2. Jesus ain’t dead.
